Botanical- Southport Botanical Gardens- Churchtown-Southport.

I have always wanted to visit the Botanical Gardens in Churchtown. I always used to see tiny brown signs with a flower on when going to the beach and I just never got round to it. Back in September I finally made it and I wasn't disappointed.

I had originally planned my level of excitement through this VIDEO that shows a bit of the gardens in the 1990's. I wanted to see all of the things and the boats. It starts at 9 minutes in.

There is also THIS gem of a film from 1975 made by The Sefton Film Unit for Southport Tourism & Attractions Department. Go to around 2 minutes in and you can see the gardens.

The Victorian Fernery is beautiful and once was housed in a glass conservatory. You can still the outline of it on the walls.

If you are ever passing or just want somewhere nice to walk around then do please go. It is really lovely and the tea and cheese toasties in the cafe are very good.

Go HERE to read about events at the gardens, apply to be a friend or be a sponsor.
