Churches- St Giles-Merston-West Sussex.

In the heat of last July, down a sleepy country lane, lies St Giles medieval church.

A deceased long eared bat had succumbed to the sun outside and a mole hill started to move as I walked past.

Going inside the coolness was welcomed and there is an excellent twelfth century font. The smell of midsummer is beautiful. I miss the bees partying on the thistles.
