Stones- Sutton Park-Glacial Erratic- Boundary Stone- St Helens.

The start of autumn is always welcome. The smell, the light and slower pace. One particular day in September I decided to go and see a stone. This stone is located in the park near to where I grew up.

It doesn’t really do much, has no fancy stone circle surrounding it and it just lives quietly day to day as a constant landmark. I have walked and driven past it thousands of times but I’ve never actually been up to it.

Looking further into its history on the Sutton Beauty website, it says it is a glacial erratic which is believed to be at least 12,000 years old.

On my day of visiting, a smiley face had been acquired. This is obviously very bad behaviour for such an elderly rock, but it does look quite kind and maybe it will wash off in the rain.
