Churches-St Peters-Northney-North Hayling-Hampshire.

A lovely November afternoon was spent firstly trying to find a very old Yew tree and then walking round and inside the beautiful church of St Peters.

The graveyard holds the resting place of Princess Catherine Yourievsky which you can see HERE.

The church is Grade 1 listed and dates from around 1140AD making it one of the oldest buildings on Hayling Island. Inside the church is a stitched copy of an icon of the Trinity by the Russian painter of icons Andrei Rublev.

You can read about the ancient Yew HERE. Read about the history of the church HERE.

I didn’t see the pentangle in the church so I will have to revisit special.
