Walks-RSPB- Marshside-Southport.

A very windy walk across the marshes to see some Meadow pipits. I was rewarded with them and also a Skylark which was most exciting. My Merlin app couldn't keep up with the wind noise so I gave up. Maybe I need to buy one of those fluffy things you see people wearing on tv.

Quite a lot of Evening primrose was still around and some lovely apple trees.

I am very intrigued by rogue apple trees and how they grow in the most desolate of places no bother. I like how a once thrown core has ended up living for years, constantly producing apples with hardly any human interaction.

I didn’t venture to the hides as it was really windy, in a ‘I cannot walk any further into it, it hurts my teeth’ kind of wind, which for July is quite unsettling.

However, there is always autumn with its mists so I will revisit then. Maybe with an added fluffy thing.

Go HERE to learn more about the reserve and HERE to read the blog and see the most up to date bird sightings.
