Neolithic- Danebury Iron Age Hillfort-Hampshire.

Visited January 2025.

Quite a way out into the Hampshire countryside via a tiny rusty brown sign is Danebury Iron Age Hillfort. It was very misty and cold when I visited and it was perfect weather to accompany the site.

‘Danebury is one of the most studied Iron Age hill forts in Europe and a Scheduled Ancient Monument.. Evidence found suggests that the fort was built 2500 years ago and occupied for nearly 500 years.’ SOURCE

Very exciting to see Exmoor ponies and Highland cows grazing. It really is a mystical place but that maybe the fog and damp talking.

Go HERE to learn more about the site and HERE for a walking route.
