Observations-18th June 2025.

Saw seven Swallows on the telephone wires. Same time last year I saw 12.

Listened to Grasshoppers in the churchyard. Even my 43 year old ears can just about hear them. Saw very large lumps of Cuckoo spit on the grass and the tiny eyes of the froghopper inside.

A Lacewing made its home above my bed. Knowing that they pierce their prey with their pincers and suck the insides out, made me relocate it to the Teasels outside safe.

I have a ground wasp nest underneath the Pyracanthas. They seem like nice people, a bit shouty if you go too near and they like chicken drumstick bones, which I threw out for the baby magpies. Suburban gardens are a wealth of things going on.
