Old Media, Manchester Airport, 1986.

This was around the time I used to go plane spotting with my dad. When you could walk straight in to Terminal One and look out the window, see the chandeliers and stand on the car park roof unobstructed.

My dad would park on Shadow Moss Road and we would stand on the corner watching the planes come in, hopefully an L-1011 TriStar. Everyone did as it was a prime spot, until the bypass was built. Go HERE to listen to one take off. Beautiful.

I remember, you could see across the road into a field just by the edge of the runway and it was always full of Hares.

These two video gems take me right back there. A completely different life, time and world. I miss it.
