Churches, St Mary the Virgin, Stopham, West Sussex.

Visited November 2025.

A lovely little church, part dating from the 11th Century. I found it by accident up a small country road.

The church website says;

‘The original doorway arches (north and south) are exceptionally lofty for so small a church. This may have been to allow Knights to ride in on horseback!’

Fancy.
